RetroN is a series of video game console clones by Hyperkin.

RetroN

The RetroN, later advertised as the RetroN 1 and Retron 1 AV, was released on July 16, 2007.

It had one slot for Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks.

RetroN HD

The RetroN HD, an updated version of the RetroN, was released on May 25, 2017.

It had 720p definition graphics which were output through HDMI rather than through AV cables.

RetroN 2

The RetroN 2 was released on December 2, 2012. It two cartridge slots. One was for Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks.

The other accepted both Super Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks and Super Famicom cartridges.

RetroN 2 HD

The RetroN 2 HD, an updated version of the RetroN 2, was released on September 6, 2019.

It had 720p definition graphics which were output through HDMI rather than through AV cables.

RetroN 3

The RetroN 3, later advertised as the Retron 3 AV, was released on July 6, 2010. It had slots for Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks, for Super Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks and Super Famicom cartridges, and for Sega Genesis and Sega Mega Drive cartridges.

RetroN 3 HD

The RetroN 3 HD, an updated version of the RetroN 3, was released on February 14, 2020.

It had 720p definition graphics which were output through HDMI rather than through AV cables.

RetroN 5

The Retron 5 was released on May 22, 2014. It had five cartridge slots. One was for Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks, one was for Famicom cartridges, one was for Super Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks and Super Famicom cartridges, one was for Sega Genesis and Sega Mega Drive cartridges, and the last was for Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance Game Paks.

Unreleased RetroN 4

The RetroN 4 was announced at the Midwest Gaming Classic on March 23, 2013. It would have supported Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks, Super Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks, Super Famicom cartridges, Game Boy Game Paks, Game Boy Color Game Paks, Game Boy Advance Game Paks, Sega Genesis cartridges and Sega Mega Drive cartridges. This version never released, as the product was updated to contain five cartridge slots, and was released as the RetroN 5.

SupaBoy

The SupaBoy, a handheld video game console, was released on December 1, 2011.

It has one cartridge slot for Super Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks and Super Famicom cartriges.

SupaBoy S

The SupaBoy S, an updated version of the SupaBoy handheld video game console, was released on November 16, 2016.

It has one cartridge slot for Super Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks and Super Famicom cartriges.

SupaBoy SFC

The SupaBoy SFC, an updated version of the SupaBoy S handheld video game console, was released on January 23, 2018.

It had one cartridge slot for Super Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks and Super Famicom cartriges.

SupaRetroN HD

The SupaRetroN HD, also known as the SupaRetroN, was released on January 8th, 2018.

It is a home video game console that has one cartridge slot for Super Nintendo Entertainment System Game Paks and Super Famicom cartriges.

RetroN 77

The RetroN 77 was a home console that was released on November 5, 2018.

It had one cartridge slot for Atari 2600 cartridges.

Mega RetroN HD

The Mega RetroN HD, also known simply as the Mega RetroN, was released on November 5, 2018.

It had one cartridge slot for Sega Genesis and Mega Drive cartridges.

RetroN Sq

The RetroN Sq was a cube-shaped home console that was released on March 25, 2021.

It had one cartridge slot for Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance Game Paks.

RetroN GX

The RetroN GX was a home video game console that was released on August 20, 2025. It had one cartridge slot for TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine HuCards.

Adapters

HyperConvert 83 Cartridge Adapter

The first three RetroN consoles did not accept Famicom cartridges natively. This could be rectified with the HyperConvert 83 Cartridge Adapter.

The consoles also accepted 72 to 60 pin adapters from other manufacturers.

RetroN 5 3-in-1 Adapter

The RetroN 5 3-in-1 Adapter adds support to the RetroN 5 for cartridges for Game Gear, Sega Mark III, and Sega Master System cartridges, as well as Sega Cards for SG-1000, SC-3000, Sega Mark III and Sega Master System cartrigges.
