Saejima washes up on the shore. Kiryu's adopted daughter, Haruka Sawamura, saw him and told Kiryu. When Saejima wakes up, he is bandaged and laying on the floor of the Sunflower Orphanage. When he learns that he was rescued by the man he was looking for, he asks Kiryu for money to get to Kamurocho so he can get his revenge. Kiryu declined, saying that he wouldn't help him get revenge as he has seen too many people go down that path.

The fight between the two is at a stalemate until Haruka broke them up. Still hurting from his wounds, he passes out. Although he mentioned Hamazaki, the man that stabbed Kiryu, Kiryu still had Haruka give Saejima a briefcase full of money as well as a change of clothes.
