Waku Waku 7 (わくわく7) is a fighting game by Sunsoft that was released to arcades on the SNK Neo Geo MVS system in 1996.
Home versions
Waku Waku 7 was first released on the Neo Geo AES, the home version of the Neo Geo MVS, in 1996. A Neo Geo CD version was in development, but development switched to the Sega Saturn when the Neo Geo CD failed in the marketplace. The Sega Saturn version was released in 1997, only in Japan. It was then released for PlayStation 4, also only in Japan, as part of the Sunsoft Collection in 2008. In 2010, the Neo Geo version was released via emulation, again only in Japan, on the Wii Virtual Console in 2010.
The arcade version was released worldwide on the Nintendo Switch in 2017 as part of Hamster's Arcade Archives series. This is an emulated version of the arcade game, so it is identical to the original Neo Geo MVS arcade release. As it is an emulated arcade game, it includes access to the operator switches to change the behavior of the game. It also includes support for saving the game at any point.
