She told Kazuma Kiryu that she would take care of Morning Glory Orphanage if he wasn't in the picture due to the bad publicity it could cause due to him being a former yakuza who was the fourth chairman of the Tojo Clan. Wanting to give the kids the best possible opportunities, Kiryu agrees, leaves Okinawa, moves to Kyushu, and changes his name to Taichi Suzuki, and moves to Kyushu.

After witnessing Kiryu fighting in the Nagasugai district of Fukuoka, Yotaro Nakajima, the owner of Nagasu Taxi, offers him a job as a taxi driver.

In December, Daigo Dojima takes a cab in the middle of the queue so that he can talk to Kiryu. He tells him that his organization is in danger because the seventh chairman of the Omi Alliance is terminally ill and he believes that his successor may seek war with the Tojo Clan.

Kiryu lets Daigo out before he tells him the destination and lets him know that he's not interested in helping the Tojo Clan as he's just a cab driver now. </spoiler>
