Sega 60th Anniversary

Sega 60th Anniversary was a worldwide marketing campaign by Sega for the 60th anniversary of the trade name Sega in 2020.

The logo displayed "60 Sega" in the classic blue and white Sega font that made the logo appear to display "Go Sega".

Products

Several celebratory products were released and sales on Sega-published video games were held.

Sega of America released several small video games and prototypes for a limited time for Windows on Steam.

  • Armor of Heroes, a tank battle game, was released on October 15, 2020, and was available for four days.
  • Endless Zone, a shoot 'em up video game inspired by Fantasy Zone, was released on October 16, 2020, and was available for three days.
  • Streets of Kamurocho, a beat 'em up video game which combines Like a Dragon with Streets of Rage, was released on October 17, 2020, and was available for two days.
  • Golden Axed, a prototype of a canceled Golden Axe beat 'em up video game, was released on October 18, 2020, and was available for one day.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was given away free and a Steam sale was held for several Sega-published games for a limited time.

Sega Toys released the Astro City Mini in Japan on December 17, 2020. This miniature video game console contained thirty-seven arcade games and was styled after the Astro City arcade cabinet, which was first released in 1993. The Astro City Mini was released worldwide by Limited Run Games the following year.
