Punch-Out!! is a boxing game developed by Nintendo Research & Development 3 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the fifth game in the Punch-Out!! series and has been released in several forms, beginning in 1987.

Versions

In 1987, Punch-Out!! was released in Japan. The final boss in this version was Super Macho Man. It was re-released for the Family Computer – Nintendo Switch Online emulator for the Nintendo Switch in Japan in 2019.

In 1987, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! was released in North America, Europe, and Japan. This version added a final boss after Super Macho Man which was based on Mike Tyson, the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world at the time.

After Nintendo's contract with Mike Tyson expired, Nintendo released Punch-Out!! (titled Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream in its re-releases). This version simply had a re-colored and slightly redrawn version of Mike Tyson which was named Mr. Dream. This version was released on the GameCube in Animal Crossing in 2002, on the Wii Virtual Console in 2007, on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console in 2012, and on the Wii U Virtual Console in 2013. It was released on the NES Classic Edition in 2017 and on the Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online emulator for the Nintendo Switch in North America, Europe, and Oceania in 2019.
