Paradroid was a game by Andrew Braybrook that was published by Hewson Consultants in 1985.
Versions
Paradroid: Competition Edition was released for Commodore 64 in 1986. It played faster than the original due to scroll code enhancements.
Heavy Metal Paradroid was released for Commodore 64 in 1987. It had Morpheus-style graphics.
Paradroid was ported to Atari ST and Commodore Amiga as Paradroid 90 in 1990. It was ported to Acorn Archimedes as Paradroid 2000 in 1993.
It was re-released via emulation several times. The Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64 version of Paradroid, as well as Paradroid: Competition Edition and Heavy Metal Paradroid, were released as part of The Graftgold Collection, the cover disc for the December 2004 issue of Retro Gamer magazine. The Commodore 64 version of Paradroid was released for the Wii Virtual Console in Europe in 2008. The Commodore 64 version of Paradroid was also released on THEC64 Mini microconsole by Retro Games in 2018.
