Nintendo Platform Technology Development (平台技术部门, PTD) was formed in 2015 when Nintendo Integrated Research & Development and Nintendo System Development Division merged.

History

Nintendo Platform Technology Development was formed by Nintendo's president at the time, Tatsumi Kimishima, to consolidate Nintendo's development teams.

Nintendo Platform Technology Development handles the duties for developing technology for Nintendo's video game platforms, which were formerly split among Nintendo's various development teams.
