Monthly ASCII (月刊アスキー, Gekkan Asukī), also known simply as ASCII (アスキー, Asukī), was a magazine published by ASCII Publishing.
Monthly ASCII
ASCII Publishing began publishing Monthly ASCII in 1977.
- November 1985 - Chain Shot!, the game that would become known as SameGame, was developed by Kuniaki Moribe and was published in this issue.
Yearly AhSKI!
Yearly AhSKI! (年刊AhSKI!, Nenkan AhSKI!) was a parody issue of Monthly ASCII released in April from 1981 to 2005.
- April 1982 - The first Japanese text adventure game, Omotesando Adventure (表参道アドベンチャー) was published in this issue.
- April 1983 - The second Japanese text adventure game, Minami Aoyama Adventure (南青山アドベンチャー), was published in this issue.
- April 1984 - A war simulation game parodying Japanese films and television shows, Ga War Games (ガ・ウォーゲーム), was published in this issue.
- April 1985 - A text role-playing game, Kwarterka (クワルティルカ), was published in this issue.
Business ASCII and last issue
In 2008, the name of the magazine was changed to Business ASCII (ビジネスアスキー).
The last issue was published in 2010.
