Sega Genesis Mini, known as the Sega Mega Drive Mini outside of North America, is a miniature video game system by Sega. It was released after the success of miniature consoles by Nintendo, the NES Classic Edition and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition, as well as the release of the Sony Classic. It was released on September 19, 2019.

It contains forty-two built-in games, running on an emulator designed by M2, and is designed to resemble the Genesis. In Japan and Asia, it contains two six-button controllers which connect to the console using a USB connection. Outside of Japan and Asia, it contains two three-button controllers, which also connect to the console using a USB connection. The video is output through HDMI.

History
On April 14, 2018, AtGames revealed via Twitter that they were designing the Sega Mega Drive Mini. However, on September 18, 2018, Sega announced via Twitter that AtGames was no longer developing the console and that the emulation would be handled by a Japanese developer. On March 30, 2018, at Sega Fes, Sega revealed that the Sega Mega Drive Mini would have emulation developed by M2 and would be released worldwide on September 19, 2019.

Games list
Forty-two games are included in the Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive Mini.

Sega Genesis Mini, known as the Sega Mega Drive Mini outside of North America, is a miniature video game system by Sega. It was released after the success of miniature consoles by Nintendo, the NES Classic Edition and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition, as well as the release of the Sony PlayStation Classic.
