TMQ Software was founded on March 4, 1981 by Tod Zipnick.

ICOM Simulations

Shortly after founding in 1981, TMQ Software was renamed to ICOM Simulations.

Acquisition by Viacom New Media

Viacom New Media acquired ICOM Simulations in 1993. After its acquisition, video games developed by ICOM Simulations were simply credited as Viacom New Media.

Rabid Entertainment

In 1996, ICOM Simulations was renamed to Rabid Entertainment.

Closure

Because Viacom New Media was leaving the video game industry, Rabid Entertainment was closed in 1998.
