History

Gunpei Yokoi, the then-manager of Nintendo Research & Development 1, created the first gamepad with the controller for the Family Computer, which was released by Nintendo in Japan in 1983 and later as the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, followed by other international markets in the following years.
