Intelligent Systems is a video game developer.

Programming team at Nintendo
In 1983, Toru Narihiro was hired by Nintendo to port arcade games to the Famicom. He created a porting team that became an auxiliary unit within Nintendo that created system tools and hired people to develop, fix and port software.

Intelligent Systems
The team became an independent company with the formation of Intelligent Systems in December 1986.

Although they were independent of Nintendo, they still remained close to the company, creating games for Nintendo consoles and working on games based on Nintendo properties.
