Roland Oskian founded Coktel Vision in Paris, France in 1984.

Acquisition by Sierra On-Line

In 1993, Coktel Vision became a subsidiary of Sierra On-Line.

Acquisition by CUC International/Cedant

Coktel Vision's parent company, Sierra On-Line, was sold to CUC International in 1996. In December 1997, CUC International merged with HFS Incorporated to become the Cendant Corporation.

Acquisition by Havas and Vivendi

After Sierra On-Line's properties were purchased by Havas in 1998, following the fraud scandal of Sierra's previous owner Cedant, Coktel Vision became solely an educational game developer. Later that year, Havas S.A. was acquired by Vivendi.

Coktel Vision was acquired by Mindscape in October 2005, where eleven Coktel Vision employees were merged into Mindscape.
