Irene "Alexis" Adams (née Reuben, ~1958 - April 16, 2008) was an American businesswoman, programmer, and video game designer. She co-founded Adventure International with her then-husband Scott Adams. Alexis and Scott were married shortly after they met in 1977 divorced not long after the video game crash of 1983.
Career
Beginning her career in 1978, Alexis Adams was one of the earliest female video game designers.
The Adventure International adventure games she co-designed with her husband were Pirate Adventure in 1978 and Mystery Fun House in 1980. She was the sole designer of Voodoo Castle in 1983.
Alexis and Scott Adams organized their own conventions and opened a chain of computer stores in Orlando, Florida. In 1983, Alexis negotiated the rights to make The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, an adventure game based on the film of the same name designed by her husband Scott and Phillip Case.
