TIPC Network

TIPC Network was founded by Ted Waitt and Mike Hammond in September 1985.

Gateway 2000

TIPC changed its name to Gateway 2000, Inc. in 1986.

Gateway

In 1998, 2000 was dropped from Gateway due to the soon-approaching year 2000.

Gateway 2000 was reincorporated as Gateway, Inc., in May 1999.

Closure

Gateway, Inc. was acquired by Acer and the former was closed on October 2007.
