Game Gear was a portable video game console by Sega Enterprises.
It was distributed by the Distribuidora De Articulos Modernos S.A. de C.V. ("Distributor of Modern Articles S.A. of C.V."), a limited liability corporation with variable capital, in Mexico.
Tec Toy distributed the Game Gear in Brazil.
Hardware
The Game Gear was based on Sega Master System hardware.
It had a 4 MHz Zilog Z80 CPU and a 3.846153 MHz Yamaha YM2602B GPU with 8 KB main RAM and 16 KB video RAM.
It played video games via ROM cartridges. With the Master Gear Converter it could also play Sega Master System cartridges.
