BeOS was an operating system for IA-32 and PowerPC computers that was developed by Be Inc.

An open source operating system known as Haiku, and originally known as OpenBeOS, was created by enthusiasts of BeOS, which is compatible with binaries compiled for the final release of BeOS, BeOS 5.
